2018 Cellar block Petit verdot

Cellar Block represents the single-varietal best parcels in good years. Deepest purple, almost opaque. Well ripened and concentrated in both aroma and flavour, this petit verdot is a bit of a rarity in Australia, with five years bottle age upon release. There's a rich boldness, sure, but also a degree of fineness. Violet, lavender, thyme aromas join black fruits and blueberry, with a noted accompaniment of charred, toasted oak. Swings from black fruit intensity to undergrowth and herbs to dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice. Come clean, fine tannins guide length and a long-lasting aftertaste.
